LCU alumnus Stephen Puente will bring over 20 Hutchison Middle School 7th grade art students to visit the campus and art program on Monday, November 7. They will visit art classes in session, eat in the Caf, and visit gallery spaces. Please welcome these folks when you see them!

The LCU 60th Anniversary Art Faculty Retrospective is now hanging in the Art Galleries located in the Ling Center for Academic Achievement. The exhibit celebrates the influence of all of the full-time and multi-semester part-time art faculty in LCU’s history—19 artists from 1957 to 2017. The exhibit is up through December 2. The reception is Friday, November 4, 6:00-8:00 p.m. This exhibition was curated and installed by Hannah Dean with tremendous help from Karen Randolph.
Michelle Kraft is presenting two presentations at the upcoming Texas Art Education Association conference in Dallas November 17-19: Art as Research: Preparing Preservice Art Teachers and The New Are Standards and Including Disability.
Michelle’s manuscript “Situating the Standards of Visual Arts Education to Include Disability” appears in the November 2016 peer-reviewed Trends: The Journal of the Texas Art Education Association.
Lecturer-in-Residence Hannah Dean attended the Texas Association of Schools of Art conference in Alpine in October, where she also participated in the One Square Foot of Art exhibition in Marfa, TX.
