News From Around Campus

Here is what's been happening on and off campus for different departments.
Lorna Smith, Director of Student Accounts, just finished her two year term as Secretary for the Board of Texas BUC$, which is Bursars of Universities and Colleges. Maureena Ruff, Student Account Advisor, was voted in as the Secretary for the next two years. This is a good way to represent LCU while receiving legislative updates and listening to specialists in the industry of collecting on outstanding receivables. Maureena Ruff was a guest speaker at our annual conference in Austin, TX  and presented on the rules of FERPA as it relates to higher education.

Lorna Smith also attended a Client Advisory Board for Tuition Management Systems which was held over fall break in Washington, DC. TMS is our real-time integration system where students can view their student accounts. TMS production experts informed us of future plans for the system.
