Institutional Effectiveness

Departmental News
This month, Randy Sellers attended the SACSCOC Small College Conference on “The Completion Agenda.” The U.S. Department of Education is moving toward rating colleges and universities based on numerous factors, one being completion percentages for first-time and transfer students. Our regional accrediting agency (SACSCOC) also said a standard is coming that will require member institutions to engage in initiatives to improve the number of degrees it awards in target categories, e.g. Pell Grant recipients, minority populations, etc. Numerous strategies were presented by colleges and universities with a head start on this initiative. The College Completion Agenda, a non-profit group attempting to advance a co-curricular student support model adopted by 35 state higher education authorities also presented. A summary of findings will be made to appropriate staff.
